Do you remember the excitement & wonder, the magic & awe, the happy spirit of the Holiday season when you were a child? When priorities meant writing a letter to Santa to make sure you’re on the Nice list, telling him all your dreams for Christmas morning… and turning your bedroom into a mini North Pole. Nostalgia consumes me when I take myself back to those magical Christmas light nights, going to sleep in warm fuzzy pajamas with that little Christmas tree on the nightstand next to my bed. The music, the snow, the presents under the tree- Christmas as a child is blissful & care-free.
The holiday’s are a wonderful time, for us adults too. Maybe its the warmth of the season that fills our homes and hearts amidst the cold weather. The peace that comes from giving. Or the light we see in our children’s eyes. The Holiday season is a time to treasure. As adults we get to relive that child-like magic all over again when we become parents. B & I felt a new kind of excitement last year during our first Christmas with Indy and look forward to many more spent together.
Family traditions specialize the season for all of us. What are some of your favorite traditions? Opening pajamas on Christmas Eve has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl, and is a tradition that will carry on in our new little family forever. Christmas story-time, the lights and Nativity at Temple square, decorating the tree together while soft Christmas music plays, watching the Grinch with a warm cup of peppermint tea, a big family service project, and playing in the snow top our list of yearly traditions.
Gymboree has cute holiday outfits for all of the above, from Christmas Eve pajamas to party dresses to boots and scarves for the snow. There is something for every child and occasion at Gymboree and their new Holiday collection is so fun. Click here to shop the Holiday collection. This dress with a Giraffe wearing a scarf all the way up its long neck just makes me giggle. And those baby snow boots…
My heart bursts with excitement and joy thinking of Indy and how special she makes every celebration, just by being present. I am so excited for this holiday season and every one hereafter that I get to spend with her and B. I hope all of you have a beautiful holiday season with your loved ones and enjoy your traditions, old and new. Thanks for being here and for loving us. Happy Holidays!
